The short answer: Your first visit takes about an hour. You'll check in, change in a private area, then move through three phases — 10 to 15 minutes of light movement, 15 to 20 minutes in a private infrared sauna with red light, and about 15 minutes in our cooling room. There's no massage, no medical exam, and no experience required. Wear comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle, and arrive about 15 minutes early.

If you've never been to a wellness recovery facility before, the not-knowing is usually the hardest part. So here's the whole thing, start to finish, with nothing left out.

Before You Arrive

Booking Your Session

You can book online, call us at (270) 992-0654, or walk in during open hours. Reservations are recommended if you have a specific time in mind, but we can usually accommodate walk-ins Monday through Saturday.

When you book, we'll ask a few quick questions:

  • Any injuries, mobility needs, or health conditions we should know about
  • Whether you'd like a single-person or two-person sauna room
  • Any questions you have before your visit

That's it. No paperwork marathon, no lengthy intake form.

What to Wear

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in — workout wear works great. You'll be on a bike, rower, or walking station for 10 to 15 minutes, so anything you'd wear to a light gym session is perfect.

For the sauna phase, guests handle clothing differently. Some wear a swimsuit the whole time. Some wear light workout clothes and bring a towel to sit on. Some change into a towel wrap. Every sauna room is private, so no one's going to see you either way. It's entirely your call.

What to Bring

  • A water bottle — hydration matters across all three phases
  • A change of clothes — helpful if you have plans afterward
  • A towel — or use ours, which we provide

Leave the rest at home. We have lockers and changing areas.

Should You Eat First?

A light snack or meal 1–2 hours before is fine — avoid a heavy meal immediately before your session. Drink water beforehand. You'll be sweating during the heat phase, so arriving hydrated makes the whole thing more comfortable.

One Important Health Note

If you're pregnant, have a heart condition, take medications that affect sweating or blood pressure, or have any other health concern, please talk to your doctor before booking. Our staff can answer questions about the facility, but we don't give medical advice. If you tell us about a condition when you book, we'll help you adjust your session appropriately.

When You Arrive

Check-In (About 5 Minutes)

You'll walk in, and someone will greet you. Expect a calm, quiet space — not a busy waiting room. We don't run on a cattle-call schedule here.

Check-in is simple: name, confirm your session, and a quick walkthrough of the facility. If it's your first time, staff will show you:

  • Where the changing areas, lockers, and showers are
  • Where the movement equipment is
  • How to work your sauna room
  • Where the cooling room is and how long to stay

Ask anything. Nobody here is going to make you feel like a beginner — most of our guests were first-timers once, and many of them felt exactly how you're feeling now.

Changing and Settling In

Head to the changing area, store your things in a locker, and get ready for your session. Change into your movement clothes, fill your water bottle, and take a breath.

If you're early or need a minute, that's fine. This isn't a place where anyone's rushing you.

A Quick Note on Nerves

Some people feel a little awkward their first time — especially if they've never done anything like this. It usually disappears within about three minutes of starting the movement phase.

Here's the reframe: you're not being evaluated. There's no performance standard, no one watching your pace, no instructor correcting your form. You're here to feel better, and the whole facility is built to make that easy.

Phase 1 — Move: Activating Your Body

10–15 minutes

Gentle aerobic movement

Your session starts with gentle aerobic movement. Not a workout — an activation.

Choose from:

  • Exercise bike
  • Rowing machine
  • Walking station

Set the resistance and pace to whatever feels easy. The purpose is to get your circulation going and warm your muscles so the heat phase lands better. You should finish this phase feeling awake, not winded.

What it feels like: Relaxed. Most first-timers take it easier than they expected to, and that's exactly right.

Hydrate here. Take a few sips while you move.

Phase 2 — Heat: Private Infrared Sauna with Red Light

15–20 minutes

Your private sauna room

This is the part you came for. Staff will walk you to your private infrared sauna room — either a single-person or two-person room, depending on what you booked.

Inside, you'll find full-spectrum infrared heat panels and medical-grade 660nm red light. You sit or recline, and that's the whole instruction.

What it feels like: Different than you probably expect. Traditional saunas blast you with hot air the second you walk in. Infrared feels gentler at first — because the air is cooler, typically 110–140°F instead of 150–195°F. You warm up gradually, and about five minutes in, you realize your shoulders have loosened and you're genuinely warm without that hot-air-in-the-lungs feeling.

A few things worth knowing:

  • The air is dry, not humid
  • You can breathe easily
  • You'll sweat, but typically less than a traditional sauna
  • You can sit up, recline, or read
  • Nobody's timing you — stay in the range that's comfortable

If you start feeling lightheaded or too warm, step out. There's no penalty for that.

Phase 3 — Recover: The Cooling Room

~15 minutes

Cool down and reset

After the sauna, you'll move to our cooling room, held steady at 66–68°F.

This is the phase first-timers underestimate — and the one they talk about afterward.

What it feels like: Refreshing, not shocking. It's not a cold plunge. It's a gradual, comfortable transition that lets your body come back down after the heat. Your skin cools, your head clears, and by the end you feel genuinely reset instead of overheated and wiped out.

You'll sit or recline for about 15 minutes. That's it.

Then you're done with the circuit. Total active time: about 45 minutes.

After Your Session

When the cooling phase ends, you're free to head back to the changing area. Showers are available if you'd like one, and your locker is right where you left it.

How you'll likely feel: Loose, warm, clear-headed, and calmer than when you walked in. Some people feel energized. Some feel sleepy in a good way. Most feel noticeably better in their shoulders, back, and legs — especially if they came in stiff or sore.

Drink water. You'll have sweat during the heat phase. Rehydrate before you head back out into your day.

Want to do another circuit? Many guests do, on visits where they have the time. Just let staff know and we'll help you pace it.

Tips From Regulars

  1. Arrive a few minutes early. Fifteen minutes gives you room to check in, change, and settle without rushing. Rushing into a sauna is the opposite of the point.
  2. Take the movement phase easier than you think. It's activation, not training. If you're huffing when you step off the bike, dial it back next time.
  3. Drink more water than feels necessary. Across all three phases, you're losing fluid. Front-load it.
  4. Don't skip the cooling room. It's tempting to head straight to the shower after the sauna. The cooling phase is what makes the whole thing feel complete — and it's the reason you leave refreshed instead of wrung out.
  5. Bring a friend if you're nervous. We have three private two-person infrared sauna rooms, so you can go through it together. First visits are easier with company.
  6. Come back within a week if you can. The people who see the clearest benefit are the ones who make it a routine rather than a one-off.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a first visit take?

About an hour, including check-in and changing. The active circuit is roughly 45 minutes. Add a little more if you plan to shower afterward.

Do I need to be in shape?

No. The movement phase is intentionally light and entirely self-paced. Choose a bike, rower, or walking station and set your own resistance.

Is there massage or hands-on treatment?

No. Perfect Full Body Wellness Spa is not a massage studio or a traditional day spa. There's no hands-on treatment at any point during your visit.

Will I be in a room with strangers?

No. Every infrared sauna room is private — single-person or two-person. You won't share a sauna with anyone you didn't bring.

What if I've never used a sauna before?

That's genuinely common here. Staff walks first-timers through the room, explains the controls, and lets you know how long to stay. You won't be figuring it out alone.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing you can move in for the movement phase. For the sauna, anything from a swimsuit to light workout clothes to a towel wrap works — every room is private.

Should I eat before I come?

Keep it light 1–2 hours beforehand rather than a heavy meal immediately before. Hydrate beforehand.

Is it awkward going alone?

Not at all. Most guests come alone, and the environment is quiet and private. Nobody's making small talk or watching what you do.

Can I bring a friend on my first visit?

Yes. Our private two-person infrared sauna rooms are perfect for a first visit with someone else. Ask about our Bring a Friend rate.

Is there a women-only option?

Yes. Ladies Day runs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM, when the facility is reserved exclusively for women. Learn more about Ladies Day →

Should I book ahead?

Reservations are recommended if you have a specific time in mind. We typically accommodate walk-ins during open hours.

What if I have a health condition?

Let us know when you book, and check with your doctor first if you're pregnant, have a heart condition, or take medications that affect sweating or blood pressure. We'll help you adapt your session.

Ready for Your First Visit?

No experience needed. No membership required. About an hour, start to finish — and most people leave wishing they'd come sooner.
